KidsPlay Foundation provides free mentorship support.
KidsPlay Mentorship Programs consist of weekly mentorship programs for youth and afterschool programs run by the organization in the LowerMainland and Fraser Valley schools. Our goal with our mentorship programs is to provide guidance and opportunity to under-guided youth by providing them with programs designed to teach them the necessary skills to develop into future leaders of our community. Our most recently launched mentorship program is Growing Minds, established to provide free tutoring programs for kids which is essential in addressing educational disparities and ensuring equal opportunities for all youth.
A majority of our other mentorship programs run inside the school premises. Additionally, all mentorship programs include special field trips that are put together by mentors such as tubing at Seymour Mountain, playing soccer at BC Place, trips to the Science World, Vancouver Aquarium, and PNE. Some opportunities also include going to watch high level sports games – we were able to take kids to watch the World Junior Hockey Championships games. Movie nights, counseling sessions and much more are provided as needed. Our mentors have witnessed gradual growth helping children every step of the way, and being able to handle everyday situations better. These youth know that there is an outlet for them to access, someone they could rely on, and a safe place to belong.
Please reach out to our team for more information and to register for our weekly mentorship sessions at firstname.lastname@example.org.
